AMD Announces Ryzen 5000 Series Desktop Processor powered by Zen 3 Architecture

AMD launches their all new Ryzen 5000 series lineup desktop processors powered by the new Zen 3 architecture. Starting from the top line-up processor, Ryzen 9 5950X that offers up to 16 cores, 32 threads and 72MB of cache below to the Ryzen 5 5600X that features 6 cores, 12 threads and 35MB of cache. The Ryzen 5000 series processors built extensively for heavy workloads such as content creation or heavy gaming session and power efficiency. According to AMD further, the Ryzen 9 5900X processor offers up to 26% generational uplift in terms of improved gaming performance.

The Zen 3 architecture features a remarkable 19% of IPC increase succeeding its previous predecessor in PC workloads. The architecture said to push the gaming and content creation performance to the next level by reducing latency from accelerated core and cache communication and doubles the directly accessible L3 cache per core while retaining the delivery performance-per-watt up to 2.8 times.

In a nutshell, the AMD Ryzen 5950X features:

  • Highest single-thread performance of a processor powering a desktop for gaming
  • Improved multi-core performance of a processor powering a gaming desktop in a mainstream CPU socket.

In addition, the 12 core AMD Ryzen 9 5900X offers improved gaming experience by:

  • A faster gaming across the selected game titles up to 7% in 1080p than the competition
  • A faster gaming across the selected titles generationally up to 26% in 1080p

The AMD Ryzen 5000 processors can be used with the AMD 500 series motherboards via a simple BIOS update. AMD says, the Ryzen 5000 series desktop processors will be available in the market by November 5th, 2020.

Also, AMD announced the return of AMD Ryzen Equipped to Win game program. The offered title including Far Cry 6. Customers who bought Ryzen 9 5950X, Ryzen 9 5900X, or Ryzen 7 5800X processor between November 5th, 2020 and December 31st, 2020 will receive their own complimentary gift of Far Cry 6 Standard Edition. Fortunately, if you purchase Ryzen 9 3950X, Ryzen 9 3900XT, or Ryzen 7 3800XT processor between October 20th, 2020 and December 31st, 2020 will receive the standard edition copy of Far Cry 6 for free.
